Businesses will find a way to maximize profits in any way they can in the locale they are at. If staying operational means you comply with labor laws you do it.

Ultimately they do want employees to be serfs, unable to just pick up and leave their lord. Serfs who can be traded or abandoned at will.

If you can't buy the local politicians to keep employees chained, you payfluence political parties to undermine the laws and protections in place .

America is a perfect place to do that .. once you have serfs, you can use the healthcare disaster as yet another way to chain them. Political corruption, passive income opportunities and lucrative consulting charters will buy the souls of political leadership.

Media will bend to become your town crier. Magistrates will be pur based. Clergy will care less about God and souls, and more about 401ks and private jets.

In America you can own the entire system not just operate within one.

I often look longingly over to Point Edward and wonder what it is like to live where it seems every commoner has some value to the state. Healthcare as a right, not a privilege speaks volumes.
